Bid Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join a Tier 1 contractor’s pre‑construction team in Southampton. You will help select and develop bids for large‑scale framework and negotiated schemes across education, care, NHS, MOD, MOJ and local authority sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize bids that align with business strategy.
• Collaborate with the pre‑construction team to devise bid strategies and produce high‑quality first‑stage submissions.
• Present bids to internal stakeholders and, if successful, manage the second‑stage process.
• Liaise with estimating, design teams and act as the primary client contact for enquiries.
• Prepare detailed technical content, including PQQ documentation and comprehensive bid packages.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large, complex bids, preferably on two‑stage schemes.
• Strong understanding of technical queries and ability to produce detailed written responses.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
