Bid Manager

About the role

We are working with a highly established organisation that is looking for a Bid Manager to join its commercial team. This hands‑on role is responsible for managing bids and proposals from initial customer requirements through to final submission.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end bid and tender process from initial requirements through to submission.
• Work directly with customers to understand their requirements and decision‑making criteria.
• Coordinate input from technical, operational, commercial and subject‑matter experts.
• Develop bid plans, manage timelines and ensure key milestones are achieved.
• Work with commercial teams to develop accurate pricing and costings.
• Bring together complex technical and commercial information into clear, customer‑friendly proposals.
• Review proposals for accuracy, quality, commercial risk and compliance.
• Maintain accurate bid and opportunity information within CRM systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bid management, tendering, proposals or commercial management.
• Strong experience producing complex customer‑facing proposals.
• Understanding of pricing, contracts and commercial considerations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisation and project‑management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines.
• Confidence working with customers and senior internal stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Experience with public‑sector customers or sectors such as ICT, facilities management, estates, logistics, construction or professional services is advantageous.
