Bid & Social Value Coordinator (Construction)

About the role

The Bid & Social Value Coordinator will support a well‑established construction contractor in the South West, working three days a week on tender submissions, marketing activities and community‑focused social value initiatives. Reporting to directors and senior management, the role combines bid coordination with the development of measurable social impact for public‑sector projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, write and manage high‑quality bid and tender submissions from opportunity identification to final delivery.
• Develop compelling social value responses aligned with client requirements and procurement frameworks.
• Collaborate with directors to shape and deliver the company’s social value strategy and community programmes.
• Research client specifications and tailor submissions to maximise quality scores.
• Prepare supporting documentation such as case studies, project data, CVs, presentations and marketing material.
• Support marketing activities including website updates, social media content, branding and promotional assets.
• Assist business development through networking events, stakeholder engagement and opportunity identification.
• Build relationships with schools, colleges, charities, community organisations and supply‑chain partners to achieve measurable social value outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience in bid coordination, bid writing, social value, marketing or business development, preferably within construction, engineering, infrastructure or property.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality tender documentation and social value proposals.
• Strong research and analytical skills to interpret client requirements.
• Ability to work closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
