Bid Writer – Construction Proposals (New Build Residential)

About the role

The Bid Writer will join the Proposals team within the Pre‑Construction department of an award‑winning, family‑owned developer. Working closely with regional teams, you will help secure new‑build residential, decarbonisation, retrofit and fire remediation projects by producing high‑quality bid documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with regional and specialist colleagues to collect technical, operational and commercial data for proposals.
• Write clear, concise and persuasive bid documents that align with client requirements.
• Maintain and update standard response templates and content libraries to ensure consistency.
• Participate in bid reviews, refining subject‑matter expert input for accuracy and compliance.
• Create presentation materials to support client interviews and tender presentations.

Required profile

• APM Foundation qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience in bid writing within new‑build residential and construction sectors.
• Strong knowledge of the construction industry and the social/affordable housing market.
• Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, showing adaptability and resilience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Adobe InDesign.
