Bid Writer

About the role

We are seeking a Bid Writer to join a national construction business at its Swindon depot. The role involves creating high‑quality responses to pre‑qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tender opportunities, supporting the bid team throughout the process.

Key responsibilities

• Produce written responses for PQQs and tenders, including unique content, references, case studies and CVs.
• Support the Head of Bid Management, Business Development Managers and Bid Managers in preparing submissions.
• Ensure compliance with work‑winning processes and manage bid‑related information.
• Edit, proof‑read and format all tender documentation to a consistent high standard.
• Facilitate story‑boarding sessions, prepare graphics such as flow charts, diagrams and organisational charts.
• Provide feedback on draft responses and maintain the Document Management System.
• Identify and re‑work existing pre‑written content and assist with knowledge management.
• Work to tight deadlines in a high‑pressure environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bid writing, proposal management, marketing communications or technical writing.
• Outstanding written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, persuasive content.
• Strong understanding of tendering and procurement processes.
