Bike shop manager

About the role

The Bike Emporium is looking for a proactive manager to run a small 1‑2 person bicycle shop in Edinburgh. You will be hands‑on with repairs, guide an assistant during busy periods, and shape the shop’s atmosphere with your own ideas.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and build lasting relationships.
• Perform bike repairs and maintenance on customers’ bicycles.
• Organise merchandising displays to highlight products and improve visual appeal.
• Maintain stock levels, manage inventory and place orders as needed.
• Support marketing initiatives to attract new customers.
• Oversee an assistant and coordinate daily store operations.

Required profile

• Confident in handling a wide range of tasks in a small retail environment.
• Strong customer‑service orientation, with a passion for bicycles.
• Willingness to learn and adapt, with the ability to seek guidance from larger stores when required.
• Experience as a home mechanic or a professional bike mechanic looking to progress.
