Billing Coordinator – Legal Finance Team

About the role

Join a progressive law firm’s Finance team as a Billing Coordinator. You will own the end‑to‑end invoicing process, working closely with fee earners and clients to ensure accurate, timely billing while supporting month‑end and year‑end financial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue client invoices in line with firm policies.
• Collaborate with fee earners to verify billable hours and disbursements.
• Manage Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) reports and resolve any discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and VAT regulations.
• Monitor aged debt and work with Credit Control to address outstanding balances.
• Produce ad‑hoc financial reports and maintain up‑to‑date billing records.
• Respond promptly to internal and client billing queries.

Required profile

• Previous experience in billing or finance administration, preferably within legal or professional services.
• Strong understanding of legal billing processes, VAT rules, and Solicitors Accounts Rules.
• Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and a client‑focused approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with Aderant (preferred).
