Billing Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a leading law firm in Central London to appoint a Billing Manager who will lead the firm’s revenue function. The role sits at the heart of the finance team, working closely with partners and senior stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely and commercially focused billing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of eight billing professionals, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end billing process across multiple practice areas, ensuring compliance with client guidelines and e‑billing requirements.
• Collaborate with partners and fee earners to resolve complex billing queries and accelerate invoicing.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress, billing performance and key revenue metrics, producing management information and trend analysis.
• Review and enhance billing processes, controls and efficiencies, acting as a trusted adviser on revenue matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading or supervising a legal billing function.
• Strong understanding of legal billing processes, work‑in‑progress and revenue management.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage senior partners.
• Outstanding organisational ability and meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience with e‑billing platforms and billing systems.
