Billing Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Billing Manager on a 3‑month interim contract to lead a finance and billing improvement project for a fast‑growing, private‑equity backed business in Reading. Reporting to the UK CFO, you will own the end‑to‑end reconciliation between the operational booking platform and our ERP system, and help embed scalable processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review, validate and document monthly reconciliations between the booking platform and ERP.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items, working closely with Finance and Customer Services.
• Develop and maintain a robust reconciliation process, including process maps and swim‑lane diagrams.
• Support the creation of a Risk & Control Matrix and identify automation opportunities.
• Analyse and improve debt‑management and collection procedures, recommending enhancements to cash recovery.
• Standardise finance processes and strengthen internal controls across the finance function.

Required profile

• Proven experience in billing, accounts receivable, revenue reconciliation or project accounting.
• Strong investigative and analytical skills with a track record of process documentation.
• Hands‑on, proactive approach and ability to work independently.
• Experience collaborating with finance, operations and customer‑service teams.
