BIM Manager – Asset Information Management

About the role
The BIM Manager will lead the newly established Asset Information Management (AIM) team, shaping the "golden thread" of asset data across one of the UK's largest public sector property portfolios. Reporting to the AIM G7, you will drive BIM strategy, information assurance and digital asset management to support informed decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage BIM strategy and compliance with BS EN ISO 19650 and the UK BIM Framework.
- Create and maintain Asset Information Requirements (AIR), Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and digital handover standards.
- Lead BIM assurance activities, including audits, model reviews, quality checks and validation of project information.
- Integrate BIM data with CAFM/IWMS platforms and broader asset management systems.
- Ensure structured asset information underpins maintenance, lifecycle management, sustainability and operational efficiency.
- Govern the Common Data Environment (CDE) across projects and operational teams.
- Mentor and develop BIM professionals, fostering capability growth.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders, supply‑chain partners and other government departments to promote BIM adoption.
- Monitor performance using KPIs and support innovation such as digital twin development.
Required profile
- Proven experience developing and implementing BIM strategies aligned with BS EN ISO 19650 and the UK BIM Framework.
- Experience creating and managing AIR, EIR and digital handover documentation.
- Extensive background in BIM assurance, model reviews, audits and quality management.
- Strong organisational and project delivery skills, managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring BIM professionals.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and training delivery abilities.
