Block Plant Operative

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Block Plant Operative to join our Lanark manufacturing site. In this hands‑on position you will help produce, handle and quality‑check concrete blocks, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Operate block manufacturing machinery and associated plant safely and efficiently.
• Assist in the production, curing and handling of concrete blocks and related products.
• Carry out routine checks, cleaning and basic maintenance on plant equipment.
• Move, stack and prepare finished products for storage and dispatch using appropriate equipment.
• Follow daily production schedules and supervisor instructions to maintain workflow.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.
• Report machinery faults, safety concerns or production issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area and support housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating manufacturing plant or industrial machinery.
• Basic mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform routine maintenance.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures and commitment to safe working practices.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on producing high‑quality products.
• Reliable, punctual, self‑motivated with a positive work ethic.
