BMS Design Engineer

About the role

A leading specialist in Building Management Systems is looking for an experienced BMS Design Engineer to join its Major Projects team. You will support the delivery of large‑scale, technically complex commercial and critical infrastructure projects across the UK, developing your expertise in a supportive engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the BMS design process from concept through to project delivery.
• Produce point schedules, equipment schedules, network topologies and operation descriptions.
• Coordinate equipment procurement requirements.
• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure design deliverables meet programme deadlines.
• Interpret electrical drawings, control schematics and MEP designs.
• Provide technical support to project teams and clients.
• Maintain project records, documentation and reports.
• Ensure designs meet project specifications, budgets and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a BMS Design Engineer.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of BMS platforms such as Trend, Schneider EcoStruxure, Siemens, Tridium or Distech.
• Good understanding of HVAC, hydraulic, electrical and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and control wiring diagrams.
• Experience with metering and third‑party system integration (advantageous).
