BMS Technician

About the role

The BMS Technician will ensure cost‑efficient operation of the hospital’s building environmental control systems, optimizing equipment performance, energy use, indoor air quality and occupant comfort. Working closely with senior management, you will support safe operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment across the estate.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, program, troubleshoot and repair HVAC, ventilation and water control systems.
• Monitor and refine the Building Management System (BMS) for HVAC and water services.
• Maintain critical equipment including the BMS, plant control hardware, energy monitoring tools and ventilation assets.
• Develop and enforce regular testing, maintenance and repair schedules for all BMS installations.
• Program BMS control sequences to meet equipment specifications and health technical standards.

Required profile

• Experience working with building management systems in a healthcare environment.
• Understanding of Health Technical Memorandum requirements and hospital safety standards.
• Ability to support senior management in safe operation of plant and equipment.
• Applicants who were unsuccessful in the same vacancy within the last three months must demonstrate new relevant skills or experience.
