About the role
Hundred Houses Society is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Board and its Independent Audit & Risk Committee. These strategic governance positions provide oversight, challenge and assurance, helping to shape the future of social housing in Greater Cambridge.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and hold the Executive Team to account for delivery against the Society’s mission and regulatory duties.
- Offer constructive challenge and assurance on financial, risk and operational matters.
- Contribute to the development of policy, strategy and customer outcomes.
- Attend regular board or committee meetings (approximately 1‑1.5 days per month).
Required profile
- Strong values, commitment to good governance and interest in social housing.
- Connections to Greater Cambridge or lived experience of social housing are desirable.
- For Board members: expertise in digital, data, technology, asset management, repairs, housing quality or building safety.
- For Audit & Risk Committee: qualified accountant or senior finance leader with audit, assurance and risk‑management experience.
Required skills
What we offer
- Annual stipend (£3,500 for Board members, £2,125 for Committee members) plus expenses.
