Bookkeeper

About the role

The Bookkeeper will own the day‑to‑day finance operations, ensuring that all financial records are accurate and up‑to‑date. Working closely with the Finance Director, you will help keep the business financially sound and support the wider accounting function.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices, run payments and manage credit control as part of the purchase‑to‑pay and order‑to‑cash cycles.
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank, supplier, customer and balance‑sheet accounts.
• Prepare journals and support month‑end activities such as accruals, pre‑payments and ledger maintenance.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with cash‑management initiatives.
• Support VAT submissions, audit preparation and other compliance‑related tasks.
• Collaborate with the Finance Director to improve processes and contribute to reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Attention to detail and a methodical work approach.
• Good understanding of basic financial principles.
• Effective communication skills for internal and external stakeholder interaction.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
