Bookkeeper – Property Sector

About the role

This is a hands‑on bookkeeping position supporting the day‑to‑day financial operations of a well‑established lettings and property management business in the Bristol area. The role offers a clear progression path, allowing the successful candidate to take increasing responsibility for the internal finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile rental income, landlord payments, tenant transactions and supplier invoices.
• Carry out regular bank and client account reconciliations.
• Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Support credit control, monitor arrears and chase overdue payments.
• Prepare and issue service charge demands and assist with service charge budgets.
• Help produce monthly management accounts and year‑end accounts.
• Monitor cash flow, income collection and financial reporting accuracy.
• Liaise with lettings and property management teams to resolve finance‑related queries.
• Maintain compliance with client‑money handling regulations and property accounting processes.
• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and supporting documentation.

Required profile

• Accurate, hands‑on professional eager to develop within a growing property business.
• Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping or finance (property sector experience desirable).
• Part‑qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator able to work across non‑finance teams.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.

What we offer

• Salary £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience.
• Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (flexibility considered).
