Bookkeeper – Temporary (Full‑time)

About the role

A local accountancy practice in Cowplain is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper on a temporary, full‑time basis. You will join a collaborative team that values precision and professionalism while supporting a variety of client sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain day‑to‑day bookkeeping for multiple client accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, CIS statements and payroll information.
• Assist with month‑end and quarter‑end processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Work closely with clients and internal staff to streamline financial workflows.
• Identify and implement improvements to existing accounting procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, VAT and CIS within a multi‑client environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability to handle several accounts simultaneously.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a fast‑paced practice.
• Effective communication skills for client and team interaction.
• Proactive problem‑solving mindset.
