Branch Manager – Building Supplies

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Newcastle‑based building supplies outlet. The role combines sales leadership with full operational responsibility, ensuring the branch meets its revenue and profitability targets while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the branch, including stock control and inventory management.
• Drive sales performance by developing new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of departmental managers and staff.
• Analyse market trends and stock profiles to inform purchasing decisions.
• Manage budgets, financial reporting and profitability of the branch.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and company policies.

Required profile

• Proven track record as a Branch or General Manager within the builders merchants or construction supplies sector.
• Demonstrated success in sales growth, negotiation and stock management.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to make data‑driven decisions.
• Excellent leadership and people‑management skills.
• Ambitious, results‑oriented and committed to continuous improvement.
