Branch Manager – Burgess Hill

About the role

Grove Group is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead its Burgess Hill site. You will own the day‑to‑day performance of a busy trade counter and adjoining warehouse, ensuring smooth operations, high‑quality customer service, and strong team dynamics.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all branch activities, including the trade counter, warehouse, and paint‑mixing services.
• Lead a team of nine staff members, setting clear standards, providing training, and conducting performance appraisals.
• Manage stock control, monitor inventory levels, investigate discrepancies, and ensure product availability.
• Coordinate order processing, preparation, and timely dispatch of deliveries.
• Deliver excellent customer service, handling enquiries and resolving issues for trade customers.
• Maintain branch administration and financial controls such as cash handling, banking, and credit control.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, security, and company operational procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing a retail or warehouse environment, preferably within the automotive or paint supply sector.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high‑performing team.
• Excellent organisational abilities and a focus on operational efficiency.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with trade customers.
