Bricklayer – Groundworker

About the role

Hyde is seeking an experienced Bricklayer – Groundworker to join its Property Maintenance team in Brighton, covering Crawley and Redhill. The role involves carrying out day‑to‑day repairs and maintenance in homes, ensuring work is completed correctly the first time and providing a courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform multi‑trade repairs including carpentry, plumbing, plastering and general maintenance.
• Erect and repair fencing, gates, concrete floors and garden features.
• Follow work orders, report progress and material usage.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.
• Repoint mortar joints, replace damaged bricks/blocks, and repair walls, chimneys and structural elements.
• Excavate, repair and reinstall drainage systems, flagging, and edging of paths and driveways.

Required profile

• Solid experience across multiple trades, especially carpentry, plumbing and plastering.
• Confident using hand and power tools and able to work independently.
• Good problem‑solving ability and strong communication skills.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Experience in social housing is a plus.
