Bricklayer / Groundworker – Property Maintenance

About the role

Join Hyde's Property Maintenance team as a Bricklayer‑Groundworker, delivering day‑to‑day repairs and upkeep across homes in Brighton, Crawley and Redhill. You will work on a variety of tasks, ensuring homes are safe, comfortable and well‑maintained for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out multi‑trade repairs including carpentry, plumbing, plastering and general maintenance.
• Erect and repair fencing, gates, concrete floors and garden features.
• Repoint mortar joints, replace damaged bricks/blocks and repair walls, chimneys and structural elements.
• Excavate, repair and reinstall drainage systems, flagging, paving and edging of paths and driveways.
• Follow work orders, report progress and material usage, and adhere to health‑and‑safety procedures.

Required profile

• Solid experience across multiple trades, especially carpentry, plumbing and plastering.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload and solve practical problems.
• Good communication skills and a customer‑friendly attitude.
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands‑on work.
• Full, valid UK driving licence; experience in social housing is a plus.
