Bridge Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our Structures & Geotechnical team in Birmingham. The role is full‑time (37.5 hours per week) with some flexibility and a starting salary of £38,000 per annum. You will work on high‑profile highway infrastructure projects for National Highways, TfL and other major clients.

Key responsibilities

• Produce technical designs, calculations, drawings and reports for bridge maintenance and new‑build schemes.
• Support Lead Engineers in delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Assist with the inspection, assessment and design of highway structures.
• Ensure designs comply with client briefs, UK standards and programme requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree (or HNC/HND) in Civil Engineering.
• Working towards or achieved IEng/CEng status.
• Experience in inspection, assessment or design of highway bridges.
• Familiarity with Eurocodes and UK standards such as DMRB and MCHW.
• Proactive team player with strong technical and analytical abilities.
