Broadcast Operations Assistant

About the role

The public‑service broadcaster is looking for a proactive Broadcast Operations Assistant to support its Manchester base. You will help ensure that technical equipment, facilities and consumables are ready and available for fast‑paced production teams delivering high‑quality content.

Key responsibilities

• Load, unload and safely transport technical equipment and vehicles.
• Move equipment between sites and Outside Broadcast locations.
• Check equipment in and out using internal tracking systems.
• Maintain stock levels, arrange replenishment of consumables and manage asset allocation.
• Assist with studio and facility set‑ups as required.
• Act as a first point of contact for operational teams, freelancers and visitors.
• Ensure all equipment issuance is documented and complies with health‑and‑safety standards.
• Drive company or hire vehicles when authorised.
• Support operational projects and follow purchasing and stock‑control procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in a fast‑paced operational, logistics, facilities, media or technical support environment.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong organisational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Understanding of stock control, equipment allocation or asset‑management processes.
• Knowledge of health‑and‑safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Capability to work independently and take initiative.

• Hourly rate up to £29.80 via Umbrella company (PAYE option available).
