Building Physics Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a Building Physics Consultant to join a leading sustainability and engineering consultancy in Swindon. The role focuses on improving building performance, delivering low‑carbon design solutions, and supporting projects from concept through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform dynamic thermal modelling and environmental analysis using IES VE.
• Develop and support Net Zero Carbon and operational energy strategies.
• Provide guidance on compliance with Part L, Part O, TM52/TM59, EPCs, TM54/NABERS, and Passive House standards.
• Contribute to sustainability assessments and modelling for BREEAM credits.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to influence sustainable design decisions.
• Produce technical reports and analyses for planning and compliance.
• Stay current with industry legislation, standards, and best practices.

Required profile

• A degree in Building Services Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Physics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2‑4 years of experience in building physics or sustainability consultancy.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Genuine passion for sustainability and low‑carbon design.
