Building Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join our claims team in Central London. The role focuses on assessing properties affected by general perils such as fire, flood and storm, with additional value placed on subsidence experience.

Key responsibilities

• Review client and claim handler information and conduct detailed site visits to validate claim coverage.
• Communicate with policyholders to gather information and explain policy liability decisions.
• Create repair schedules, assess variation requests and ensure compliance with policy terms.
• Oversee the full claim lifecycle from damage assessment through to final report submission.
• Manage contractor appointments and provide clear instructions for asbestos, drying, restoration and building works.
• Ensure all activities comply with company policies, health and safety legislation and insurer guidelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in loss adjusting or building surveying, preferably with subsidence project management.
• Degree in Building Surveying (BSc Hons) or related field.
• Professional membership such as MCIOB or MRICS is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.
