Building Surveyor – Prime Client Work, Real Autonomy

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join a global consultancy’s expanding Building Surveying practice in Manchester. The role offers immediate exposure to major clients and a live pipeline, allowing you to take ownership of high‑profile assignments from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical due diligence, pre‑acquisition and condition surveys and produce detailed reports.
• Lead dilapidations instructions, manage negotiations and deliver advisory outputs.
• Prepare specifications and high‑quality documentation for retail and commercial portfolios.
• Support technical surveying work linked to existing client instructions.
• Manage multiple projects across national client portfolios and ensure timely delivery.
• Shape internal processes, templates and best‑practice standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing clients and identify further business opportunities.
• Mentor and support junior team members as the practice grows.

Required profile

• MRICS‑qualified Building Surveyor.
• Strong experience in professional services delivering due‑diligence, dilapidations and condition surveys.
• Background in a consultancy environment with the ability to work independently.
• Commercially aware, delivery‑focused and confident when interacting with clients.
