Building Surveyor - South East England

About the role

Sedgwick is recruiting Building Surveyors for its building consultancy division across South East England. You will act as the buildings expert in the reinstatement of properties affected by unexpected events such as fire, flood, water escape and impact, working with all stakeholders to complete projects on time and within budget. The role is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Specify building repairs and act as contract administrator
• Produce technical reports on a range of building matters
• Assess and validate costs and quotations
• Work with home and property owners, building contractors, loss adjusters and other professionals

Required profile

• Good understanding of building construction, shown through experience and qualification
• MRICS/MCIOB or equivalent chartered qualification, or entry requirements met (building surveying degree or otherwise) with commitment to pursuing chartership
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent communication, prioritisation, strategic thinking and organisation skills

Helpful but not essential: surveying experience in the buildings insurance sector, experience with schedules of rates and contractor networks, and familiarity with building contracts.
