Business Analyst – Temporary (Hybrid)

About the role

Positive Employment is recruiting a Business Analyst for a local government organisation in Southampton. The role is a three‑month temporary contract, with the possibility of extension, and offers hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Document, define and challenge business, system or process requirements using appropriate techniques.
• Identify and document opportunities for change, efficiency and improvement.
• Undertake feasibility studies, assess impact of business problems and evaluate solution options.
• Define metrics, benefits and measures of success, and work with the Strategy & Performance team on funding and bid opportunities.
• Analyse and present data in an understandable format to support decision‑making.
• Develop and document solutions, ensuring stakeholder engagement and producing acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing and produce testing and business readiness documentation.
• Conduct process‑mapping, quality reviews and implement workflow automation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business analysis within public or local government settings.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
