Business Controller

About the role

Agfa Digital Printing Solutions is seeking a Business Controller to join its Finance team at the Cambridge site. The role combines strategic business partnering for the global innovation team with local FP&A and plant controlling responsibilities, supporting the growth of the Digital Printing Solutions Business Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the global head of innovation and R&D managers to deliver financial modelling, investment appraisals and business cases for new projects.
• Monitor R&D project financial health, analysing monthly spend versus budget for inks, equipment and software.
• Develop and track KPIs to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the R&D portfolio.
• Support the local finance team in month‑end closing, preparation of financial statements and variance analysis.
• Lead the annual strategic plan, budgeting and quarterly forecasts in line with BU and plant objectives.
• Maintain standard costing systems, review production costs and analyse manufacturing variances to improve margins.
• Perform ad‑hoc deep‑dive analyses to support decision‑making on future business opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with proven experience in financial modelling and budgeting.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear insights for stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to business partnering.
• Experience in cost accounting, variance analysis and inventory/asset management.
