Business Development Account Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a client in Blandford who drive engagement, growth and retention for their customers. As a Business Development Account Manager you will be the main point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring projects run smoothly and opportunities are maximised.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for client accounts, delivering consistent communication and high‑quality service.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with client objectives and core sectors.
• Conduct proactive outreach to generate leads, nurture prospects and strengthen relationships.
• Build and maintain relationships with decision‑makers and key stakeholders.
• Develop and execute tailored account growth and engagement strategies.
• Provide regular updates, reports and insights to clients.
• Maintain accurate client reporting and CRM data (HubSpot).
• Gather client feedback and act to continuously improve service delivery.
• Coach and support Account Executives to develop their skills.
• Report on progress, pipeline and opportunities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in account management, sales or business development, ideally 5+ years.
• Proven success in at least one of the following sectors: decarbonisation, marine, contracting or construction.
• Confident in outbound calling and developing long‑term partnerships.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Excellent time‑management, organisation and attention to detail.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a practical, “can‑do” attitude.
• Honest, transparent, team‑oriented and able to work independently.

Required skills

• HubSpot CRM (or similar) for tracking progress and performance.
• Microsoft Office suite.
