Business Development Executive

About the role

Stride Resource Management is seeking a Business Development Executive to grow its commercial insurance portfolio across the South East. This is a new‑business focused position where you will work directly with senior decision‑makers to win and nurture medium‑size and SME insurance clients.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new commercial insurance business throughout the South East region.
• Build and maintain a high‑quality pipeline of SME and mid‑market opportunities, with the potential to handle larger cases.
• Develop relationships with business owners, directors, finance leads and other senior stakeholders.
• Lead client conversations on risk, cover, programme structure and service approach.
• Collaborate closely with internal broking, placement and service teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Maintain focus on pipeline quality, conversion rates and revenue growth.
• Represent the broker professionally in the regional market.

Required profile

• Proven experience at Development Executive level or as a high‑performing new‑business insurance producer.
• Comfortable engaging senior decision‑makers and building trust quickly.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of converting prospects into long‑term clients.
• Ability to work autonomously while leveraging internal support functions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of commercial insurance products and underwriting processes.
• Excellent client relationship and negotiation skills.
• Effective pipeline management and prospecting techniques.
