Business Development Manager – Engineering Solutions

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to own the sales function of a growing engineering company. Working closely with the Managing Director, you will inherit an established customer base, develop new opportunities and help shape the future sales strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow long‑term relationships with an existing portfolio of customers.
• Visit client sites to understand technical requirements and identify commercial opportunities.
• Generate new business through networking, lead generation and targeted marketing activities.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and bespoke commercial solutions.
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager and production team to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers to develop customised solutions.
• Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry to order and ongoing account management.
• Represent the business at customer meetings and industry events.
• Contribute to the development of the company’s sales strategy as it expands.
