Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to join a fast‑growing international freight forwarding and logistics company. You will be responsible for generating new business, building long‑term client relationships, and expanding trade lanes, particularly between the USA and the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across international freight markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and new clients.
• Focus on developing trade lanes, especially USA‑UK routes.
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing and onboarding.
• Self‑generate opportunities through cold outreach, networking and market research.
• Collaborate with internal operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery.
• Maintain a robust pipeline and consistently meet sales activity and revenue targets.
• Stay updated on market trends, competitor activity and industry developments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales or account management.
• Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain is highly desirable.
• Strong ability to generate new business and secure long‑term clients.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Target‑driven mindset with strong commercial awareness.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
