Business Development Manager – Industrial Paints & Coatings

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive sales of industrial paints and coatings for a historic UK manufacturer. The role is highly autonomous, split between new business acquisition and account management, and covers a North West territory from Derby up to Newcastle.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities (≈70% of time) and manage existing accounts (≈30%).
• Sell high‑performance paints, powder coatings and pretreatment solutions to manufacturing, defence, aerospace, automotive and other industrial sectors.
• Travel to customer sites 3‑4 days a week, with a remote base for the remaining time.
• Maintain a full‑time schedule, Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑5 pm.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or Sales Manager within industrial paints or coatings.
• Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Ability to work independently and manage a geographically dispersed territory.
