About the role

We are a family‑run business with over 50 years in the educational supplies sector, serving more than 2,000 clients across London and the South East. As we embark on an ambitious two‑year growth plan, we are looking for confident, target‑driven Business Development Managers to help win new clients and expand existing accounts from our Colchester head office.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive profitable sales growth across multiple product categories within an assigned region.
  • Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities through research, networking and client engagement.
  • Manage existing accounts to ensure satisfaction, retention and revenue growth.
  • Develop and execute a regional business development plan aligned with company objectives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to uncover opportunities.
  • Provide market insights, customer feedback and product demand information to shape sales strategy.
  • Track and report on key sales metrics, including revenue growth and market‑share expansion.

Required profile

  • Proven experience in business development, sales or account management, preferably across multiple product categories.
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets.
  • Highly motivated, target‑driven with strong business acumen.
  • Confident in generating new business from cold prospects while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of a sales territory and working both on the phone and face‑to‑face.
  • Holder of a full UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points.

  • Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).
