Business Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to build and grow a new sales territory for a global technology company that helps retailers improve sustainability and customer engagement. Based in the South West, you will work field‑based, meeting convenience retailers, independent stores and forecourt operators across your assigned area.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own a sales territory, generating new business and nurturing long‑term relationships.
• Identify, approach and win new customers in the convenience and independent retail sectors.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract signing.
• Demonstrate the commercial value of the technology solution and act as a product expert.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth implementation and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Proven experience in field‑based Business Development, Area Sales or Territory Sales.
• Track record of winning new business and building lasting client relationships.
• Familiarity with the convenience, independent retail, symbol groups or forecourt market is advantageous.
• Strong consultative selling approach and ability to understand customer needs.
