Business Development Manager

About the role

You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities for a fast‑growing recruitment consultancy. Working from our Cheltenham office, you will combine outbound outreach with strategic research to build a robust pipeline of B2B prospects.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and research prospective client companies across target markets.
• Conduct outbound outreach via phone, LinkedIn, email and other digital channels.
• Build relationships with key decision‑makers, understand their recruitment needs and qualify leads.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and pipeline updates in the CRM system.
• Collaborate with the wider sales team to ensure smooth handover of qualified opportunities.
• Share market insights and contribute ideas to support overall business growth.

Required profile

• Previous experience in sales, business development or a target‑driven commercial role.
• Confident, professional communication with strong organisational attention to detail.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and resilient with a drive to achieve targets.
• Ability to build rapport and develop long‑lasting business relationships.

Required skills

• Experience using CRM systems.
• Proficiency with LinkedIn for prospecting.
• Ability to design and execute email campaign outreach.
