Business Development Manager

About the role

A market‑leading international logistics provider is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Leeds/Bradford region. The role focuses on securing new road‑freight business, developing key distribution accounts and building long‑term, high‑value partnerships within a forward‑thinking organisation that invests heavily in its fleet, people and professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively generate new business to meet agreed financial targets, including cold‑calling and outreach activities.
• Develop and deliver tailored forwarding solutions for both new and existing customers.
• Manage the full customer enquiry process, ensuring seamless service delivery from quotation to shipment.
• Identify and report opportunities for growth through new customers, routes and services.

Required profile

• Self‑starter with initiative, adaptability and a strong customer focus.
• Highly organised with a drive to learn and grow.
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
• Confident telephone manner and ability to monitor/manage shipments effectively.

• Competitive salary £50,000‑£65,000 per year plus commission and company car.
