Business Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth for a fast‑expanding specialist in emergency commercial call‑out services across England and Wales. Based near Harlow, you will have the autonomy to generate new business, nurture client relationships and influence the future direction of the sales function.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive outbound sales across England and Wales.
• Build, develop and manage a portfolio of both new and existing commercial clients.
• Maintain regular contact with clients to foster long‑term relationships and maximise revenue.
• Accurately record all sales activity in the CRM system.
• Prepare client proposals, account documentation and information packs.
• Represent the company at sales meetings, networking events, exhibitions and hospitality functions.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to deliver outstanding service.
• Contribute to weekly sales meetings and business development planning.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence.
• Proven success in B2B sales, preferably within plumbing, drainage, construction or related sectors.
• Minimum of 10 years’ sales experience in a target‑driven environment.

Required skills

• CRM system proficiency.

What we offer

• £40,000 base salary with OTE potential exceeding £100,000.
• Full‑time, office‑based role (Monday‑Friday, 8:00‑17:00) with occasional client travel.
