Business Development Manager

About the role

As a Business Development Manager you will own a territory across Scotland, building trust with customers and turning opportunities into contracts. You will work autonomously, shaping the sales pipeline and representing the company at industry events.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships.
• Engage with contractors, procurement teams, commercial managers and other decision‑makers.
• Manage the sales cycle from initial enquiry to contract award.
• Collaborate with Estimating and Operations to produce competitive proposals.
• Attend customer meetings, site visits, networking events and exhibitions.
• Maintain accurate CRM data, sales pipeline and market intelligence.

Required profile

• Proven success in B2B sales and new‑business development.
• Strong relationship‑building, presentation and commercial negotiation abilities.
• Experience dealing with senior stakeholders and procurement teams.
• Knowledge of construction, utilities, rail, highways, environmental services, vegetation management, forestry, landscaping, arboriculture or grounds maintenance is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Understanding of public‑sector procurement and tendering processes is a plus.
