Business Development Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a leading insurance brokerage to find a Business Development Manager who will raise the company’s profile, build professional networks and generate new business opportunities across the Manchester market.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a brand ambassador, developing relationships that create new opportunities and strengthen market presence.
• Build and maintain a robust network of professional contacts and prospective clients.
• Attend industry events, networking functions, seminars and business forums to promote the business.
• Organise and host events that showcase the brokerage and enhance its visibility.
• Develop relationships with introducers and other professional partners.
• Identify and create opportunities for new business growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to convert prospects into long‑term client relationships.
• Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and relationship‑building activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales, relationship management or a professional services environment.
• Strong networking and communication abilities with confidence engaging senior decision‑makers.
• Proactive, self‑motivated approach to generating opportunities.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple relationships.
• Resilience, drive and a solid work ethic required to succeed.
• Insurance experience is desirable but not essential.
