Business Development Manager – Major Infrastructure

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Major Infrastructure will lead field‑sales activities across London, promoting the hire and sale of powered access equipment, plant hire, platforms and capital equipment. You will spend most of your time on client sites and construction projects, with part of the week working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new business by targeting Tier‑1 contractors, infrastructure firms and other construction sector clients.
• Develop and maintain long‑term accounts to maximise repeat business and revenue growth.
• Provide product demonstrations, customer training and technical support on equipment capabilities and safe operation.
• Read construction drawings to understand client requirements and propose suitable solutions.
• Maintain accurate records in the company CRM system and manage your sales diary.

Required profile

• Proven track record in field sales within powered access, plant hire, capital equipment or related construction sectors.
• Experience selling into the major infrastructure market is highly advantageous.
• Strong new‑business generation skills combined with account‑management ability.
• Reliable, trustworthy, organised and able to work independently.
• Ability to read technical drawings and comfortable using IT tools.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM systems.
