Business Development Manager – Mortgages

About the role

We are partnering with a prestigious UK bank to find an experienced Business Development and Origination professional. The role will drive new mortgage business across Leicester, the West Midlands and Birmingham, focusing on buy‑to‑let and bridging finance products.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively source high‑quality lending opportunities by engaging with existing and new broker partners.
• Build, nurture and expand broker relationships to generate new business growth.
• Represent the bank at industry events, conferences and networking forums.
• Conduct regular broker visits to identify opportunities, gather market intelligence and convert prospects into deals.
• Collaborate with national and regional broker networks to align activities with local market needs.
• Ensure broker‑submitted applications are complete, accurate and meet credit and compliance standards.
• Work with internal credit, underwriting, operations and completions teams to progress cases and resolve queries.
• Track performance metrics, monitor pipeline activity and report progress against KPIs.

Required profile

• Resident in Leicester, West Midlands or Birmingham with an established broker network.
• Proven track record of meeting targets in bridging, buy‑to‑let and commercial mortgage origination.
• Strong business development skills, broad market knowledge and excellent communication.
• Full UK working rights and experience working in the UK financial sector.
