Business Development Manager – Partnerships

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to expand our partner network for a fast‑growing energy consultancy. This field‑based position will involve identifying, engaging and onboarding new business partners across the UK, helping to create long‑term, revenue‑generating relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target and engage prospective partners that align with growth strategy.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to signed agreements.
• Deliver compelling presentations and communicate a clear commercial value proposition.
• Negotiate commercial terms and overcome objections.
• Attend networking events and industry functions to generate new leads.
• Support new partners through onboarding and early‑stage development.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth partner transitions and ongoing growth.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline reporting and forecasting.

Required profile

• Proven success in business development, new business sales, channel sales or partner acquisition.
• Strong prospecting and lead‑generation abilities with a hunter mentality.
• Experience managing a structured sales pipeline and meeting growth targets.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Ability to engage and influence senior decision‑makers.
• Highly organised, self‑motivated and results‑driven.
