Business Intelligence Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Data Engineer to join our growing in‑house IT team in Dartford. You will design, develop and maintain a modern BI platform that enables data‑driven decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Build and optimise data models for reporting and analytics.
• Create interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting requirements.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity and availability.
• Monitor BI systems, troubleshoot issues and provide application support.
• Manage BI‑related projects from requirements gathering through delivery.
• Produce documentation and deliver user training.
• Liaise with third‑party suppliers for development and support activities.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in Business Intelligence solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL for data querying and transformation.
• Power BI development, including DAX.
• Python programming.
• ETL design and implementation.
• Data modelling and data governance.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or similar ERP).
• Excel for reporting.
