Business Manager – Defence Land Sector

About the role

This is a strategic leadership position within a UK‑based defence consultancy that is employee‑owned. The Business Manager will shape the growth of the Land sector, defining long‑term strategy and driving new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Define a 5‑year roadmap for the Land market, covering 2030 and beyond.
• Identify and capture opportunities across Land Mobility, Soldier Systems, Uncrewed Systems and C4ISR.
• Leverage an existing network to build high‑performing partnerships and manage key client relationships.
• Lead proposal development alongside technical teams and mentor junior commercial staff.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and industry partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the UK defence sector, preferably within a consultancy or professional services environment.
• Deep knowledge of the Land domain – battlefield digitisation, autonomous systems, vehicle programmes.
• Extensive network of contacts and a track record of winning complex capture opportunities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑influence skills.
• UK national eligible for MOD SC clearance (or already holding it).
