Business Operations Manager – Engineering Start‑Up

About the role

We are seeking a Business Operations Manager to support the CEO of an ambitious engineering start‑up developing market‑changing products for the industrial, energy and aerospace sectors. Based in Bristol, you will act as the CEO’s right‑hand, driving commercial operations and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day activity across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Progress sales opportunities and follow up with customers in the pipeline.
• Manage the sales pipeline, coordinate client visits and meetings.
• Draft proposals, write bids and assist with grant applications.
• Support project planning and provide operational oversight of HQ staff.
• Produce regular reports, identify problems and implement solutions.
• Collaborate directly with the CEO on strategic commercial initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience as an Operations Manager or similar commercial role.
• Proven background in a sales‑focused environment.
• Ability to commute to Bristol.
