About the role

Tekever, a European leader in unmanned technology covering digital, defence, security and space, is hiring a Buyer in its Swindon office within Procurement. The Buyer takes ownership of purchasing materials and services, working closely with suppliers and internal teams so that production requirements are met, while driving the best possible cost, quality and delivery performance.

Key responsibilities

• Create, manage and expedite open orders to meet business and production schedules.
• Own and develop supplier relationships, monitor performance and resolve supply or delivery issues.
• Source and issue requests for quotation, negotiating price, lead time and terms to secure best value.
• Conduct due diligence on new and existing suppliers.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure procurement processes are followed.
• Work closely with accounts payable, inventory and warehousing/logistics.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost, quality and delivery performance.

Required profile

• Ideally experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain.
• Previous experience of ERP/MRP systems.
• An understanding of supply chain risk.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
• Candidates from related supply chain or engineering backgrounds are welcome.
