Buyer / Procurement – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Buyer/Procurement professional to join a leading food manufacturing business operating across multiple sites in the East Anglia region. The role is based in Great Gransden and offers a full‑time, permanent position with a clear path for progression and regular pay reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the procurement, negotiation and sourcing of raw materials and components required for production.
• Utilise ERP/MRP and procurement software to manage purchase orders, inventory levels and supplier performance.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production and quality teams to ensure material specifications and delivery schedules are met.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, handling contract negotiations and ongoing supplier management.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate procurement status to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a procurement or buyer role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer literate with the ability to quickly learn ERP/MRP systems.
• Willingness to commute to Great Gransden, Cambridge.
