Buyer – Procurement

About the role

Monzo’s Procurement team is evolving into a strategic partner that shapes commercial decisions and delivers long‑term value. We are looking for a Buyer to own a defined spend category, drive sourcing initiatives and create measurable commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing processes for the assigned category with autonomy and accountability.
• Balance risk, cost, value and strategy by applying sound commercial judgement.
• Run competitive events, negotiate terms and capture measurable value.
• Own contract execution, renewal planning and timeline management.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into robust commercial solutions and challenge where needed.
• Align and realign stakeholders to maintain clarity, momentum and confident decision‑making.
• Identify and deliver improvement opportunities through insight, influence and independent thinking.

Required profile

• Strong procurement fundamentals and ability to apply them in new contexts.
• Proven commercial judgement and stakeholder leadership.
• Ability to work independently, manage complex trade‑offs and deliver results.
• Experience in sourcing, negotiation and contract management is desirable but not mandatory.
